The Spartan Marching Band is one of the largest organizations at Porter High School. If a student at PHS is enrolled in any of the bands (PHS Wind Ensemble, PHS Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, etc), then that student is a part of the Spartan Marching Band.

The Spartan Marching Band mission is to provide quality performance, academic excellence, loyal school spirit, and the highest character qualities at Porter High School. The Spartan Marching Band is a hard-working team that learns not just about music but also about major life skills that will last a lifetime - discipline, honor, integrity, and commitment.

The marching band is featured at every Friday night high school football game during half time. The marching band is also seen performing at various public community functions and parades. The band is competitive and participates in competitions every year at various marching festivals and contests, such as the Galena Park Marching Band Festival, USBands hosted by The Cadets, The Friendswood Marching Festival, and UIL Marching Contest.

The marching band was first established in 2010 with the opening of Porter High School.
