The Award Winning, Spartan Marching Band is one of the largest organizations at Porter High School. As a consistent UIL Marching Contest Division 1 Award Winner, Regional Contest Medalist, UIL Area Marching Contest Finalist and UIL State Marching Band Championships Semi-Finalist, the Spartan Marching Band is one of the most successful programs in which a student at Porter High School can participate!  

If a student at PHS is enrolled in any of the band classes (PHS Wind Ensemble, PHS Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Percussion, Ascension Visual / Color Guard ), then that student is a part of the Spartan Marching Band.

The Spartan Marching Band mission is to provide quality performance, academic excellence, loyal school spirit, and the highest character qualities at Porter High School. The Spartan Marching Band is a hard-working team that learns not just about music but also about major life skills that will last a lifetime - discipline, honor, integrity, and commitment.

The marching band is featured at every Porter High School football game during half time. The marching band is also seen performing at various public community functions and parades. The band is competitive and participates in competitions every year at various marching festivals and contests.

The marching band was first established in 2010 with the opening of Porter High School.
